                                                                           Renee Mora - Board President

Renee Gomez-Perez Mora, born and raised in the Central Valley, in the barrios of Calwa and summers in Huron, her dream to help serve mankind through public service started when she was 9 years old.  Abuela’s words continue to ring true “Mija, you need to remember work hard and smart with your head and heart, so that you won’t have to work with your hands,” as they picked tomatoes alongside each other.  For the last 20 years, Renee has dedicated her life to impacting youth, families, and communities, while raising her family to persevere through challenges and dedication, alongside her husband.  Currently she works for Central Unified School District, serves on California Afterschool Network’s Quality and Policy Committees that works collaboratively with the California Department of Education, BASP.  As a member of the Mexican American Political Association,  Renee continues to empower families through the use of education and her mantra, “Live to love, love to learn, learn to lead, lead to leave a legacy.” Her heart is dedicated to navigate change by designing programs that effectively and efficiently “fill in the gaps,” that are needed in the Central Valley.  From mentorship programs to art therapy, youth leadership to parent programs, Renee continues to design, support, and consult organizations that promote peace, healthy neighborhoods, and positive change not only in the Central Valley, but across the United States.
As a featured family in LiveWire’s Media documentary, “Character Counts Chronicles,” she continues to advocate for families afflicted by cancer and amputation, following her own son’s journey of both at a young age.  Her affiliation with Hanger Prosthetics & Orthotics, Inc. has served in educating and empowering families in overcoming challenges across the Nation and worldwide.  As a fond lover of music, the arts, and multi-cultural diversity,  Renee continues to promote equality through exposure, empowerment, and respect for all of mankind.  Knowing the importance of healthy neighborhoods to actively engage future generations, she believes that together through service, community partnerships, and commitment to excellence, lives continue to be changed and impacted by the positive support of our Valley

Lourdes Oliva - Board Member

I work as Chief Producer for The National Latino Public Radio Network, Radio Bilingue, Inc. hosting informative talk shows, educational announcements and cultural for our indigent and migrant populations. I also produce and host, a musical program titled “Acento Sabroso” a salsa and dance show with a Colombian flare. My father is Colombian and my mother Guatemalan; I was partly raised in Los Angeles and for the past 20 years, in the central valley. I enjoy helping people of multicultural and multi-social backgrounds, with information on education, music, cultural events, and civic organizations and with traditional festivities and developments. My biggest ambition is to help our Latino’s through leadership and public service to better inform and educate their families of the many events and opportunities to grow culturally and educationally.
