The Peer Health Ambassador program is designed to bring medically accurate information on reproductive health to Fresno State college students through messengers they know and trust: their peers. The PHA's are trained in the areas of reproductive health, presentation skills, and outreach methods.

MEET OUR AMBASSADORS

I’m from a little town called Lindsay. I love putting smiles on people’s faces and taking spontaneous trips

Why did you want to join KISS?

To better understand the subject and to teach Fresno State students about repro health. To also have people become more aware of their bodies and be empowered because where I am from it wasn’t taught in schools. I want to become a Health Educator one day.

How do you hope to impact CSUF?

To take what I’ve learned and go out into the community to bring awareness and reproductive health. To help erase the stigma of STIs, birth control, and unplanned pregnancies.

I was born and raised in Fresno, CA. My mom was a medical assistant so she encouraged me to pursue health. I was definitely given a detailed sex talk but quickly realized none of my friends got one. I knew this was important and what youth should be taught.

Why did you want to join KISS?

I want to teach people comprehensive sex education. It is something many people partake in (sex) but know little about. I want people to not be afraid of talking about sex.

How do you hope to impact CSUF?

I hope to help CSUF turn into a campus where talking about sex is not taboo, and talking about consent is just a part of everyday.

I grew up in Modesto, CA and moved to Fresno to attend Fresno State. I originally came to FSU for English, but then fell in love with the Theatre program and am now pursuing an emphasis in design and technology for theatre.

Why did you want to join KISS?

I joined KISS because I am passionate about sexual and reproductive health. I believe there needs to be more access to this information and KISS seemed like a great place to work alongside this topic.

How do you hope to impact CSUF?

I hope to open discussion about this topic and create a positive atmosphere for others to feel comfortable talking with me about sexual and reproductive health.

I was born and raised in Fresno, California

Why did you want to join KISS?

I want to be able to provide medically accurate reproductive health education to Fresno State students and community.

How do you hope to impact CSUF?

I want to be able to make a difference in the world. I know I may not be able to help everybody but if I can make a positive impact in one’s life, that to me is the most rewarding.
